About Ruth Ray

 

​Ruth Ray was born in Glen Cove, New York in 1958. She began painting professionally in 1989 and in 1998 she was accepted into the prestigious Society of Animal Artists. She has participated in several of the Society’s annual Art and the Animal exhibitions. Her paintings have been included in many of their traveling museum exhibitions and she is now one of their respected Signature Members. Her work can be found in numerous private and corporate collections, including The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona. Her work was included in The Best of Wildlife Art book, a publication of North Light Books. She currently resides in Virginia and is busy creating and playing in her studio.
